Who We Are

A Remodeling Company in Philadelphia Since 2011

Most of our work is in houses that are fifty to a hundred years old. After fifteen years of opening walls in Philadelphia rowhomes and twins, we expect to find old wiring left live in a ceiling, galvanized pipe at the end of its life or a joist that was notched for a drain decades ago, and we look for those things when we assess a job.

The work we do

Kitchen and bathroom remodeling, plumbing and electrical are the core of what we do, along with framing, drywall, flooring, painting, trim, roofing, HVAC and concrete. With these trades in one company, you hire one contractor instead of coordinating several.

License and insurance, and how to check them

GM is a licensed and insured contractor. Before hiring anyone to work on your house, ask for the license number and a certificate of insurance and check them. You can ask for ours at the in-home visit.

How It Goes

How a Project With Us Works

A project moves through four stages, whether it is one bathroom or a whole house.

01

The free in-home visit

We come to the house to see the space, measure and listen to what you want to change. Photos help, but the condition of the walls, the floors and the existing plumbing and wiring can only be judged in person.

02

The quote

After the visit you receive a quote describing the work. Read it against what you asked for and bring up anything that is missing or unclear before the job is scheduled.

03

Permits and inspections

Structural changes and new plumbing or electrical work require permits from Licenses & Inspections, and the work is inspected before the walls are closed. When a job needs them, they are part of the project.

04

The final walkthrough

When the work is finished we go through it with you. That is the moment to point out anything that does not look right so it can be corrected.

Questions

Working With Us: FAQ

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. GM Remodeling Services LLC is licensed and insured. Ask to see the license and the certificate of insurance at the in-home visit, as you should with any contractor you are considering.

How long have you been in business?

Since 2011. Our shop is at 3019 Cottman Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.

What kinds of projects do you take?

Kitchen and bathroom remodels, whole-house renovations and single-trade work such as plumbing, electrical, flooring, painting or roofing. The services page lists everything.

Do you work on older houses?

Yes, they are most of what we do. Rowhomes and twins built before 1950 make up a large part of Philadelphia, and remodeling them means dealing with plaster walls, old wiring and aging pipes.

How do I start?

Call or text (267) 968-3913 or send the form on the contact page. The first step is a free in-home visit.
